Big News for North East Businesses:
The North of Tyne Business Support Fund is back—with up to 50% funding available for digital projects like website development in Newcastle, eCommerce builds, video production, software tools, and more.

If your business is based in Newcastle, North Tyneside, or Northumberland, you could be eligible. Applications are open now and will be assessed from June 2nd, 2025—but with high demand expected, early applications are strongly encouraged.

Who’s eligible?

You can apply if your business:

Pays business rates to Newcastle, North Tyneside, or Northumberland
Is actively trading and planning to grow (creating or safeguarding jobs)
Has fewer than 250 employees
Hasn’t exceeded the £315,000 cap on previous state aid in the past 3 years

What projects can be funded?

The fund covers up to 50% of eligible costs between £3,000–£8,000 (VAT excluded). Projects must complete within 3 months and be claimed by February 2026.

Eligible activities include:

Web Design / Web Development
Software Development
Marketing & Branding Strategy
Video or Animation Production
Process Improvement or Financial Restructuring
HR or Succession Planning
Product or Business Expansion Planning

⚠️ Note: Equipment and hardware are not eligible.
